Have you ever walked into a networking event and felt that awkward, panic of knowing no-one?
Then eventually when you pluck up the courage to walk into a group, you find you have little in common both personally and professionally?
Well, I have experienced this on countless occasions and I have struggled to build my network as a female, professional. Networking events, I have learnt, do not offer these opportunities for growth. The real opportunities stem from warm introductions where our male counterparts can easily swing a golf club or drink a beer at the football and talk about the next big deal or client. For us ladies, these networking opportunities do not come by frequently and I am frustrated, frustrated my career has stagnated as I struggle to build a client base. So here I am reaching out to you ladies, knowing that many of you are in the same boat, and taking matters into my own hands.
